My first Vogue editorial

Doesn't look like, but sometimes I ask myself "why am I a model?". But I know the answer so I'll tell you guys on today's post.
There's a lot of options in this life. You can choose study for be someone with a respectful career, you can choose have same career that your parents had or you can choose live always at the same place that you were born and raised. I always had that feeling that I didn't fit there, that my town was too small for what I wanted for my future.
I remember when I was like 5/7 years old and my aunt used to say "when you will be a model to give us money?", I always saw that as "you will be so rich that will pay everybody's bills".
Nobody gets rich from one day to the other one, and if does all the money goes away easily, because actually that quote "what comes easy, goes easy" means that if you don't fight to get what you want, you don't give the value and lose everything.
Everybody that know me since the beginning knows that nothing came easy for me, I fight a lot to be where I am now. I fight with myself for think I wasn't pretty enough because people were bullying me on school and home, I fight with people thinking I wasn't good enough because of my teeth that wasn't perfect, I fight because I didn't had money enough and I fight with my heart because I have to live without everybody that I love, and I keep doing it.
I didn't want just to be a model, I had a dream to go to college and study journalism or something like that because I wanted to be write about fashion, because that's what I like to do as well, but be a model just happened first and stole my heart.
On my first year being a model was really cool, I did almost all of the fashion shows in my town (that isn't big) and I learned how is the fashion market in Brasil, and that I would never fit there, because they like that regular beauty, that everybody think it's pretty and that's it. I could never fit there, and I never wanted. I wanted to be more, to have my chance.
I was never happy to get stuck in just one place, I always had this feeling of grow up more and more, inside and professionally.
Be a model, and specially international, isn't easy. First come the language's bar: you have to learn english and another languages, learn how to understand accents and be patient because some people don't understand you. Most of the people don't understand me because my accent is really strong. And then comes the culture bar, that sometimes people don't understand your way to be because you have a different way to act sometimes.
A lot of people think that be a model is just take pictures and do some runway shows, but no. We work  8 hours a day like regular people, sometimes even more. Once I was working 12 hours for 3 days straight, on the last day I couldn't even remember my name, was so tired.
Do you know how is to change outfits 50 times a day, sometimes more, and take like 30/40 pictures of each one? Front, back, sides, detail... And then you have to look pretty in all of them, the entire day? Yeah, it's quite tiring. And all that just because you don't even imagine how many hours models have to wait before the fashion shows. Sometimes I almost sleep on the make up time. Always traveling and having like 6, sometimes 9 hours difference between each place. It ends with the energy of any person. And all that because you don't know how difficult is to sleep, because you wanna talk with your friends and family that are far, and then comes Facebook, Instagram... When I can sleep it's already 12, 1am, and always waking up at 6/7am.
And the way you miss everything? Imagine live far from everything that you love and you don't even have time to make new friends because you are always traveling for work?
I left all that for live a dream. A dream of be somebody, for people know me for who I am, for my weird way to be, for find out that I would never fit in my small town and that I should go and see the world and show how much I can grow up.
So, why am I a model?
Because I wanna show the world that doesn't matter where you were born, if you didn't stud in a nice and good school or if you have to live a thousand of bad or difficult things to be successful. Who believes always reaches.

xx
